Depending on which other cards and grafts (the bleed grafts are pretty good) you get on Day 1, upgrade Daggers accordingly. Other way of looking at it is that Sal's Combo Daggers is an enabler for theme decks - since there's a Bleed/Combo upgrade. Why give all those shiny options if they are not viable? Honestly the campaign is just not fun and worth playing for me anymore for that reason. A lot of I knew how to draft and the mechanics, but also just how forgiving he is in battles and heals. Smith was actually my highest win rate at the first 10 run mark for any character (9-1). And the final bosses also can be harder IMO. And I think it stemmed from his negotiations. Examples would be if you don’t have several multi-target item cards going in (Oolo, grenades, etc.) then you need to prioritize suitcase Grenades or the Holo Belt to either counter her Holo belt prevent Kashio from having it in the first place. The best tip I offer if you can make it to Kashio with high reliability and then struggle is to assess your deck before the auction and be patient to get the item that plugs your battle holes. Hostility Sal is just harder so far in my experience. Even today though I’m still going to lean towards influence for Sal 90% of the time as I can clear most all negotiations with garbage influence decks. When I shifted to having a battle first mindset, I cleared at 80% immediately and went up from there. So I’d end up with all my allies and pets clearing the bosses and then just get wrecked by Kashio. Especially influence deck and siding with Oolo. My biggest flaw early on was Sal Negotiations were way too easy and I avoided battles. Personally I learned a lot playing Sal, but once I figured it out I cleared with a pretty high clip.
